up all night

This past Saturday, I went to the birthday party for the daughters of a friend from college. I won't give names, and I didn't get permission to show their sweet faces on my blog, but they'll probably be models someday anyway, so it should be okay:
They both have March birthdays, so they had a joint "Pirate Princess" birthday party. With a moonjump thing. And a professional face painter. And a pinata shaped like a nail polish bottle. And pony rides. And the best little treat bags I've ever seen. (Purses for the girls, treasure chests for the boys. Beer and margaritas for the adults.) It was a sweet party. But since they've spent about a zillion dollars on birthday parties the past few years, they are trying to figure out where to go from here. (Otherwise, we are bound to see them on the new version of MTV's "My Sweet Sixteen Party" in a few years...) The oldest turned 5, so soon she will be ready for slumber parties. I am psyched. I'm hoping they will move to slumber parties, and I volunteered to come help. I love slumber parties. I'll get to stay up late with my best girl friends (while listening to girls screaming over Hannah Montana) and catch up. I have so many good memories from slumber parties growing up, even though we always seemed to get yelled at during the night at some point. "GIRLS, QUIET DOWN!!!" Brooke, Gloria, Selena, Sally, Tabitha, Nicky, Margaret and Sarah will all hate me, but here is a picture - I think it is from my 11th birthday slumber party:

Yes, that's me in the hot pink with my eyes closed. Nice. I think that was the party where I got a "My Little Pony" cassette tape player. If you'll notice, I made goodie bags out of brown lunch sacks - you can see Selena in the middle holding hers up. I don't really remember, but I'm guessing we sang along to NKOTB, painted each other's nails and talked about boys. (I think I also rented "Maid to Order" and got in trouble because it was rated PG-13.)

This story really doesn't have a point, I just got really excited at the idea of a slumber party. That's all.

It sure brings back memories. Hard to believe all those little girls are beautiful women today. I wonder if anyone besides Sarah will see this...

About a year ago I had a slumber party at the house with some girlies. I made lasagna and we drank some vodka girlie drinks and played board games and watched Superbad. It was good times for all! Just like the slumber parties when we were young, but with alcohol!

I've been itching to have another one...guess it might be a bachelorette party instead....so, PJs, alcohol and presents! woot! j/k

Next time someone's S.O. goes out of town, I say we have a slumber party! We could even bring the clothes/make up we don't want like you suggested. Perfect!!

I don't think I was welcome at that party.

But, as I always did, I went anyway. At least I look cute in that picture.

Mom made my shirt.

Dangit. I'm logged in as someone else again. All those comments that were just left were actually Jessica's. My bad. (as if you couldn't gather. I don't think mom made dad's shirt in that picture. HAHAHAHA)

I'd write a comment, but my eyes are too misty to see the keyboard. I guess it's allergies...
