"music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life"

(quote by Berthold Auerbach)

I *may* have gotten a little carried away with this whole "I'm getting a masters degree!" thing. I keep thinking I deserve to treat myself to fun things, so for the past 6 months or so, I've been buying concert tickets. Turns out, I have scheduled myself quite a line-up. I "defend" my thesis portfolio at noon on 4/15. After that, all bets are off. I've managed to sucker all sorts of people into going concert hopping with me....

4/15 – Avett Brothers (with my sister)

4/26 – Mumford and Sons/Edward Sharpe/Old Crow Medicine Show (with Sarah)

4/27 – Citizen Cope (with Shelly)

6/1 – Michael Buble (with Larry)

6/26 – New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys (with Kristin and Shelby)

(Lindsey/Lana - it isn't right that you aren't in the line-up. Granted, you're going to Kings of Leon without me, but surely we can find a show at La Zona Rosa or something?!?!)

Guess I better graduate, or there won't be much to celebrate. (Although I could probably make a killing if I scalped all these tickets!!!) I am ALMOST DONE! I might be smack dab in the middle of the tunnel, but there is indeed a visible light!

Nobody can accuse you of not having diverse musical taste!

I am so excited that you can see the light! I remember that feeling very well. It is so thrilling! We have to have a party for you. It's a must.

Great lineup! Love that your musical tastes are eclectic! (that is a compliment!)

Just keep saying I think I can, I think I can and get through that tunnel!

So very, very jealous of Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons. I recently went to an AMAZING Menomena show and then to Noah and the Whale.

And U2 in a month.

Still jealous though, especially of Avett. I hear they rule in concert. I love talking music.

Speaking of April Fools, I did an April Fools prank on some of the 6th graders in my school. Video now on my blog.

Sarah, it is your fault. You got me a "Tiffany" tape when I was in like 3rd grade and I've never been able to cure myself of the pop music running through my veins. And you also got me loving the live shows. (Although I do need a set of those fancy earplugs like you have!)

Knit, I wish I would have thought setting up my blog the way you set up yours. I love the way you find a song for every occasion. If you're ever stuck, let me know. I like to do that sort of thing.

Cheese, I know of neither Menomena nor Noah and the Whale, but since I enjoy reading your posts when you give your "top whatever" about music, I will google them as soon as I finish posting this. "And speaking of April Fools..." ha! If I am ever blessed with a child of my own, I may move to Utah so that he/she can have you as a first grade teacher.

I remember singing along to Debbie, Tiffany, and Whitney at your slumber parties. You had the best slumber parties, I swear.

I'm jealous of Mumford & Sons, Michael Buble and the boy bands! It makes me giggle because I think of when we were talking about boy bands over lunch.

And now with the mention of Noah and the Whale I've got "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N." repeating in my head...
