Well, if you were waiting for a new blog post, you can just thank that "running a red light" ticket that I got a few months ago for keeping me away.... I'm finally getting around to completing the defensive driving class.
If I had paid the ticket on time, I would have paid $111 for the ticket and $25 for defensive driving. That would have been a total of $136.
Since I didn't pay on time, it cost $275. Since I didn't start defensive driving on time, I also have to pay $25 to overnight my certificate so that I can get it turned in on time and avoid a warrant.
Keeping in mind that my driving record cost me $12.50, this red light cost me $327.50.

I realize that I live a semi-charmed kind of life, so this blog is here to celebrate my blessings.
Disclaimer: It is important to mention that there is a difference between being shallow and being stupid, and I will admit that at times I fall into the "shallow" category. Not on purpose, I just really like things that lots of other people find annoying.

Holy cow! I've been in the same boat as you, friend. At least it is over and done with.
Just finished the 4th (of 6) module - will do the last 2 tomorrow and THEN will finally be done with it!

I definitely learned a similar lesson the year after I got my license.. only mine cost me almost $500! I'll tell you what, knowing tickets can cost that much- & with such intensive traffic school- has definitely made me a "better" driver if only to save myself some time and $! it's a hassle for sure.
